Juan Antonio Távara Zariquiey

He has worked for important law firms in both countries. With more than 22 years of professional practice, he is specialized in international trade and logistics, and also has a significant experience in litigation and arbitration, both in civil and commercial matters.

He has been a part-time professor in Peruvian and Spanish universities, works as a commercial mediator between Europe and Latin America and, since some years ago, he regularly publishes opinion articles in specialised media.
Lawyer, with more than 20 years of experience in the protection and defense of the interests of his public and private clients. He acts as an arbitrator and counsel for a party in various forums, with particular experience in the prevention, preparation and defense of commercial and investment disputes. Currently, he advises a well-known contracting company for the US Air Force, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Spain and Singapore, among others, on both public and private contractual matters. He has practiced in the international arbitration practices of the firms Sidley Austin LLP and White & Case LLP, representing both states and private companies. He was responsible for implementing and directing the successful defense of the Republic of Peru in international disputes, exercising the defense of the state regarding international disputes for USD 50 billion, having recovered USD 110 million and paid compensation of less than USD 1 million. Independent consultant working with the IDB, World Bank and OAS, among other international organizations, as well as for sovereign states. He has a Master of Laws from Duke University. He is the author of several articles and essays on international arbitration, actively participating as a speaker in various academic panels on international arbitration.

Specialized in Civil Law and Administrative Law. She currently resides in Rome, from where she provides professional services as a lawyer at a global level and from where she actively collaborates with the firm.

Degree in Linguistics from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, with a Ph.D. in Theoretical Linguistics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a Master’s degree in Computational Linguistics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the University of Wolverhampton, in the United Kingdom.

She has worked as a researcher at the Pompeu Fabra University’s Center for Automatic Language Processing Research, in Barcelona, ​​and as a teacher.
